Zoning Code Commission
In May 2007, the voters overwhelmingly approved the creation of a Zoning Code Commission to reform and modernize Philadelphia’s outdated and complex zoning code.
The Commission is charged with developing a new zoning code that:
- is easy to understand
- improves the City’s planning process
- promotes positive development
- preserves the character of Philadelphia’s neighborhoods
ZoningMatters.org helps keep the public informed and involved in the development of a new Zoning Code that is fair, sensible and smart.
You will find information on the Commission members and staff, their meeting schedule and workplan. This site also posts meeting notices, handouts, and reports on community meetings.
