City Councilman Darrell Clarke
District 5
Councilman Darrell Clarke has served on City Council for nine years. Currently he is the Chair of the Labor and Civil Service Committee and the Vice Chair of the Committee on Licenses and Inspections. Prior to his election, he served as an experienced public servant in municipal government for nearly twenty years, initially being hired by future mayor and then Councilman John F. Street. During his Tenure, Councilman Clarke has introduced Tax Increment Financing Districts throughout the Fifth District, and has played a role in the creation of more than 2,000 units of affordable housing in his District. He also now serves on the Fairmount Park Commission, and as the Ward Leader for the 32nd Ward, which he has done for the past twelve years.
