Emanuel Kelly, FAIA
Kelly/Maiello Architects and Planners
Emanuel Kelly is co-founder and president of Kelly/Maiello Architects and Planners, a general-practice architectural firm that began in 1976. With more than thirty years of design experience, he has most recently been involved in many projects around the city in which he was born and raised: The President's House, on Independence Mall; the Church of the Advocate, a national historic landmark; Free Library of Philadelphia Central Library, major addition and historic restoration; the Pennsylvania Convention Center; and Tasker Homes. Before starting Kelly/Maiello, Mr. Kelly worked in both Boston and New York City. He sits as a board member of both the Fairmount Park Art Association and the City of Philadelphia Art Commission, and is deeply involved in the community, sitting on the Advisory Committee for the Partners for Sacred Places and the Fabric Workshop and Museum. Mr. Kelly has been a Professor at Temple University and has guest-lectured at Drexel, Penn, and Harvard. Mr. Kelly has also garnered numerous accolades for his work, including a City of Philadelphia Citation from Mayors Street and Rendell for his work with Minority and Women’s businesses.
